I stumbled upon at this time an aerial shot of Beirut’s port taken in 1929 by François Pierre-Alype, discovered on the Nationwide Library of France web site. I dug out the web site, looked for all of the Beirut-related footage on it and there are 94 of them courting from the 1800s and Nineteen Thirties.

The standard of those previous footage is kind of wonderful. Examine them out!
